Indoor places in the UK

Family places to explore and play entirely under a roof.

Indoor venues cover far more than a play centre. House of Dreams Museum is an immersive personal art museum and MathsWorld UK is an interactive maths discovery museum, both filed as escapes for older children who like a day that bends the mind a bit. Buzz Attack, over in Shoreditch, is an immersive competitive game-show experience in the same bracket. For gaming proper, XP Tavern is a social lounge with fifteen next-generation consoles, twenty-five high-spec PCs and dedicated gaming zones. Depot Mayfield holds Europe's largest vertical skate ramp, and runs live skate competitions alongside beginner sessions for anyone starting from nothing. At the younger end, Tumble Tot Play runs gymnastics-based sessions for under-fives at a gymnastics and circus-skills centre in Sevenoaks, with drop-in slots. Westfield Stratford City has hosted Bonnie's Playtime Experience, and Centrale Whitgift moved a rooftop beach under cover. The Buckingham Palace State Rooms open to visitors throughout August, which is the grandest indoor day on this list by some distance. Catalyst Science Discovery Centre, the Museum of Liverpool, The Beatles Story, the Liverpool Empire, Storyhouse, Heatherton World of Activities and St George's Hotel are all listed on this page too.
