Family places to explore and play entirely under a roof.
When the weather turns, the North West has a lot of family days under one roof. Blackpool Tower alone packs in several: a 9-hole dinosaur-themed mini golf course on Level 7, Madame Tussauds wax museum with celebrity figures, a traditional circus with stunts and clowns, a theatrical Dungeon walk-through with live actors, and an elegant Victorian ballroom. SEA LIFE Blackpool and Showtown are also listed. For younger children, Curious Little Ones is a brand new play space where children learn through play at their own pace, with a cafe serving a healthy menu. Apple Jacks Adventure Farm has indoor and outdoor play areas suitable for all weather conditions, and WWT Martin Mere is a wetland centre with play zones and seasonal activities. Families who want to make a weekend of it can base themselves at Lakeside Hotel & Spa on Lake Windermere, which offers boat trips, a swimming pool and a games room. Depot Mayfield is home to Europe's largest vertical skate ramp, with a four-day festival of skate competitions, music and food, and a rooftop accessible by lift. Imagine That! Wigan, Curiosity Mill, Stamford Quarter and Northern Light Cinema are also listed. Family places to explore and play entirely under a roof.
